- 4 Game weeks belong to Florida, Philadelphia, and Tampa Bay in the East, and Anaheim, Calgary, Columbus,Detroit,Edmonton, Minnesota,Nashville, St Louis , and Vancouver in the West .
- 2 Game weeks belong to Boston, Pittsburgh and Washington in the East , and Phoenix in the West .
- I have harped on this point in the past and will do so again here - do not bench your stars based on matchups alone . Both Malkin and Ovechkin play only 2 games this week, but leaving either on the bench at this crucial time of the year is going to be a mistake . Use your stars and use this column for your decisions on mid level players on down .
- The Canadiens have been struggling and they only play 3 this week, but with two of those contests against two of the worst 3 defensive groups in the NHL- you should be confident in your Habs. All 3 games are at home as well .
- The Rangers have been a different club since the coaching change and with games against Atlanta and Pittsburgh after a tough, likely low scoring tilt with the Wild , go ahead and use most of the players that you normally would .
- Washington only has a 2 gamer in a crucial week for fantasy leaguers . The two they do play though are against Toronto and the Lightning - 2 very appealing matchups .
- I love the Ducks this week . 4 Games including 2 against the Avs who are playing out the string . Roll with your Ducks with confidence.
- You don't need me to tell you to start your Wings in a 4 game week at this point of the season - but with games against Calgary,Edmonton, and the Islanders do so very confidently .
- The Oilers look like a strong bet this week with games against Detroit,Phoenix, and Anaheim all appearing to be good chances for plenty of points .
- Bit of a tough week for Florida as they play three of their 4 games against teams that are in the top 13 in the NHL in defense . Because they play 4 you do have to go with them, but look at all your options before blindly starting your mid level Panthers.
- Philadelphia has 4 games, but three of them would qualify as really tough matchups as they get 3 opponents in the top 8 at keeping the puck out of their nets.
- Chicago is going to be in tough this week with 3 games and all three teams are elite defensive units (Vancouver is the weakest of the three and they rank 7th defensively). Use Kane, Havlat (hold your breath that he doesn't get hurt), and Toews, and then check your options for all others .
