News: Nashville re-signs F Steve Sullivan to a 2 year ,7.5 million dollar deal .
Analysis : Sullivan when healthy is just under a point a game producer . The lone problem has been a back injury that caused him to miss a chunk of the 2006/2007 season plus all the playoffs, and also all of the 2007/08 season, and half of 2008/09 . That's a lot of missed time . In 08/09 he looked refreshed after all the time off and put up 32 points in 41 games . He's 34 years old but he's an old 34- the two year deal is about as much risk as any club would likely assume and no doubt the Nashville doctors took their time assessing his status before the Preds locked him up .
Columbus signs C Sami Pahlsson to a 3 year contract worth 7.95 million dollars .
Analysis : This looks like a really nice fit as the Jackets have plenty of skill but were looking for some checking forwards .He's a strong penalty killer, has experience on a Stanley Cup winner (Anaheim), and is capable of chipping in 5-10 goals a season .He's the kind of player that you like to have on the ice with a minute to go if you're protecting a one goal lead . He's not an option for fantasy leaguers .
