Game notes from Blues/Ducks Dec. 10 game ;
- Ducks completely had their way with the Blues in their own end in period 1 . Blues defense did not match the Ducks physicality in front of the net or along the boards .
- Blues lost starting netminder Manny Legace to what sure looked like a concussion in the first period after the Ducks Ryan Carter skated through the St Louis crease on Parro's goal and had his knee accidentally strike Legace's head . Chris Mason took over in the Blues cage and performed very well . Watch the blog for a note on the extent of Legace's injury when more info surfaces .
- Teemu Selanne was flying . I had him at 7 shots on net and 2 more that missed .
- Carlo Colaiacovo was the Blues best defenseman in my mind . He was competitive at least and didn't fall into the trap of trying to do too much . The other player that came over from the Leafs , Alex Steen did almost nothing, but did have a third period chance where he somewhat tried to take the puck to the net .
- BJ Crombeen continues to pay dividends for the Blues . He potted his 6th goal of the season and also had a fight . They'll give him plenty of minutes as long as he continues to be around the action .
- Pretty poor night for Blues rookie Patrick Berglund . This was a physical, bruising contest and he did not appear interested in taking part . He did get an assist on Boyes PP goal so his point streak continues .
- Loved what I saw of Ducks blueliner Brett Festerling . Does a great job of keeping the front of the net clean and appears to be very comfortable for a guy only a few weeks into his NHL career .A very physical performance from the rookie .
